Drake, also know as Aubrey Drake Graham, or now known in the industry as Drizzy is a Canadian fella from Toronto Ontario born October 24th, 1986 started his career as Jimmy Brooks a teen who gets shot in the back, ends up on a wheelcar, destroying his basketball career on the hit Canadian show "Degrassi, The Next Generation" as a starting actor.
Big boy Drake wasn't only a talented actor, in 2006 he released his first mixtape "Room For Improvement", which was made available through his official Myspace page "www.myspace.com/thisisdrake".
In 2007 the artist released a second mixtape "Comeback Season" generating a single and music video "Replacement Girl" featuring Trey Songz. With that Video he became the first unsigned Canadian rapper to have there video featured on BET.
In 2008 Lil Wayne was givin some of Drake's work by Rap-A-lot Founder, Jas Prince and imediatly called Drake and invited him to fly down to Houston to tour with him.
Drake became part of Lil Wayne's crew "Young Money" and released songs like "Ransom" and "Man of the Year" both Featuring Lil Wayne. Even though Drake was part of "Young Money" he was still unsigned.
"So Far Gone" Drake's third mixtape, released Febuary 13th 2009 on his official blog site "October's Very Own" for free download, had more then 2000 downloads in 2 hours. With the success of his two mixtape singles "Best I Ever Had" his first featurless video, and "Successful" Featuring Trey Songz & Lil Wayne made the star over the top. The Mixtape was #6 on the "Billboard 200" making it the highest charting album in the United States for a Canadian rapper. since then over 400 000 copies were sold in the United States. Named best mixtape of 2009 by "MTV" and won Rap Recording of the Year at the "2010 Juno Awards" . Drake rose to the top.
Drizzy planned to release his first official album "Thank Me Later" in late 2009, but is now planned to release the album June 15th, 2009. The album has confirmed collaborations with the likes of Kanye West, Jay Z, The Dream, Danny! and Lil Wayne.
